Extracto de un artículo muy interesante de cracked.com, titulado "6 Genios que vieron cómo sus inventos terminaron terriblemente mal"; me gustó mucho el artículo acerca del inventor de la Televisión, la idea que él tenía, y el horrible resultado final.

Already born with a ridiculous name, Philo T. Farnsworth's life story doesn't make for the happiest of reading. It's a litany of financial troubles, corporate espionage, legal battles, bad timing, heavy drinking and nervous breakdowns. But the man was a genius; he was born in a log cabin and theorized the basic principles of electronic television while cultivating a potato field at the age of 14. Yep, that's right, 14-years-old, an age when most of us couldn't theorize the basic location of our ass using both hands.

A few years later, while wooing his future wife, Philo spoke to her about his dreams: "He talked a lot about what television would do," Elma Farnsworth remembered. "He saw that television would allow people to learn about each other. He felt that if you could learn how other people live, world problems would be settled around the conference table instead of bloody battlefields. He thought that everyone in the world could be educated through television, and that it could also be used for entertainment and sporting and news events."

And he was completely right! Well, except for the part about learning not to hate people who are different. He was pretty far off there. As for educating the masses, we can give him the benefit of the doubt if we use the widest possible definition of "educating."
But pretty much from the get-go, any idea of television being an enriching benefit to the human race were cast aside in favor of quiz shows, adorable chimps and dancing cigarette packs with great gams.

In 1961, FCC Chairman Newton Minow made his famous speech to the National Association of Broadcasters, describing the horrors of television as a "vast wasteland." And this was decades before Flavor of Love.
Meanwhile, Philo T. Farnsworth observed all of this with an increasingly regretful eye. His son, Kent, described his father feeling that "he had created kind of a monster, a way for people to waste a lot of their lives," and summarized his attitude as "There's nothing worthwhile on it, and we're not going to watch it in this household, and I don't want it in your... intellectual diet." Had he lived, it's safe to say that Philo Farnsworth would have had the world's worst set of TiVo Suggestions.

He did soften a bit in his final years, saying that televised images of the moon landing "made it all worthwhile," but an accidental viewing ofHee Haw the next day led him to regret this brief moment of fulfillment.

· EL TRUCO DE LA TELE ·

Me di cuenta de que estoy vendiendo la pomada con la Tele!

Cada vez que sale el tema de la TV, se me infla el pecho diciendo "YO casi NO VEO TELE". Parece fantástico, sin embargo me percaté que es solo una extraña ilusión de mí mismo creada por mi Némesis "yo mismo" (wn seco).

Resulta que hace unos varios meses que he dejado de lado la Tele casi por completo, así de improviso, sin darme cuenta. Todo gracias a que en Youtube pude encontrar casi todo lo que quise alguna vez ver en la tv, como ver de nuevo TV Condoro, Series antiguas de Dibujos animados, El supuestamente mejor videoclip del mundo (que lo encontré superoso, JuniorSenior: Move your Feet), y un etcétera súper simpático.

Claro; es casi como si estuviera viendo tele en el pc! pero claro, he aquí la magia: PUEDO ESCOGEEER LO QUE VEEO (imagíne eso cantadito), y PUEDO MANEJAARLOOO!!

Es el FFuturo, santa Fgsfds! Gracias a estas comodidades puedo prescindir de gran parte de la Tele normal en favor de una SUPER TELE TURBO!!

O sea, en el fondo, sigo viendo Tele. Maldición.

Sin embargo no veo publicidad! (tengo buenos filtros de spam también). Supongo que eso es al menos un punto, ya que estoy medianamente apartado del conjuro consumista de la Telele. Algo es algo.

NOTA: esto veo en la Tele tal como la conocemos:

- Seinfeld
- Scrubs
- Mythbusters
- Dibujos Animados varios.

Es lo que tengo en la cabeza. JA! Derrotado una vez más por mi mismo... Rayos.

· No soy cinéfilo... ·

No obstante considero mi deber mencionar cuando una película me asombra. Creo de hecho que es mi deber ensalzar (humildemente) todo lo que me produzca asombro; sobre todo en esta época de "nada-me-sorprende".
Así es! VI TELE!! rompí mi pacto conmigo mismo durante una hora :D! Bueno, después de todo no lo tenía por escrito. Sigue siendo el mínimo posible, anyway.
Agarré un pedazo de Van jelsin en el TENETÉ hoy y como me aburrí, cambié a OTRO CANAL y capté una película llamada "THREE - EXTREMEs", para variar cine oriental. Como sería de buena que ni me di cuenta del cuál era el logo del canal en la esquina!!
En fin, son tres historias (en inglés, tres es THREE (!!)) mega tranfu (en español, tranfu es TRNFAU(!!)) de situaciones pesadillescas, algo más realista que surrealista pero bastante efectivo con un uso moderado y justo de gore, con el ingrediente principal siendo las historias que te hacen pensar "el guionista está cagado de la cabeza!! lo agregaré al msn!".
Es harto interesante ya que como las historias deben ser contadas en poco tiempo, los giros inesperados deben ser más rápidos; ergo no hay tiempo de aburrirse. Eso si, no quise ver la tercera historia, de Takashi Miike porque ese sí que está enfermo de la mente (lo agregaré al msn!).
Excelente Película, se las recomiendo y pondría un trailer acá pero como no soy cinéfilo, acá está un video de mí bailando wii y rompiendo un vaso!

Feliz día de la Tele (puaj)

Obviamente me carga la televisión de hoy.
Ojalá los amebas de caca se dieran cuenta de que la tele es para Comunicar, y no sólo para Entretener, como muchos creen. Bueno, ser un Ahuevonado Mentalmente Ciego o de corto alcance filosófico parece estár más de moda que follarse a todo ser de sexo Opuesto (o incluso de los otros) que se atraviese por mi camino.

Hmmm, si, definitivamente el libertinaje sexual (por ahora) es menos popular que ser imbécil.

Suerte que nunca sigo las modas.
